Having just summited from the deep valley below. Atop, the Wapiti Lake wolf pack rests in the winter’s snow of Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. Since 2014 the Wapiti’s have been flying their coat colors throughout Yellowstone’s Northern Range. From almost pure white to grey to black.

Titled: The Arrival. The Wapiti Lake wolf pack was founded in 2014. Since that time it has grown strong, despite the many ongoing territorial challenges. Depending on what year, they have and can be one of the largest wolf packs in Yellowstone. It hasn’t been all that long ago, that they were numbered at 27 members. In this image, several pack members had just climbed up the immense Lava Creek Canyon to summit. Either needing or taking a short break to gather all in the hunting party of that day.
